Another Cliche Romance - Rin X Reader [PART 2]

    You didn't remember anything after your bath.  You had immediately passed out the second you hit the bed.  You rubbed your eyes and sat up.  The clock next to your bed read '4:30' and you stretched out.
    "Did you sleep well?"  Makoto's voice called from the hallway where he was standing.
    "Mhm... Very well..."  You gave a small yawn and nodded.
    "You'll need to get ready for the welcome party... It starts in an hour..."  Makoto pointed at your suitcase in the corner.  "Your stuff is over there, and if you need anything just ask!"  He waved and left the room.
    You started digging through your suitcase for something to wear. After a few minutes of bipolar clothing decisions, you finally found one.  "This should work..."  You laid it out on your bed and began pulling a comb through your hair.  
    Getting ready took about a half hour.  It would've been shorter, but your favorite song came on and you had to dance your ass off!
    "[Name]? You ready yet?"  Makoto's voice called out from the other side of the door.
    "Yeah!"  You called back and grabbed  your mini purse.  "Let me just grab my shoes."  You pulled your shoes out of your bag and walked out of your room.

    As you and Makoto made you way to the party location, Makoto described how hard it was to convince Haru to come.  
    "And Nagisa had to beg him for the entire day!"  Makoto lightly chuckled.
    "Sounds fun..." You let out a light laugh, intrigued by this 'Nagisa'.
    "Yeah, Nagisa can be a handful, but he really cares about everyone."  Makoto smiled brightly.
    You could tell how happy he was that all of his friends were getting along.  Every time he talked about them, his eyes would light up.
    "I can't wait to meet everyone..."  You  smiled.
    "They're all excited to meet you...  Especially Gou!  She's looking forward to having another girl friend!"
    You nodded. "And... Gou is the manager of the swim club, and Rin's sister?"
Makoto smiled.  "Yup! And Nagisa is...?"
    "The hyperactive short blonde, who only eats unhealthy food... He swims breaststroke... Right?"  You bit the tip of your thumb, trying to remember everything Makoto had told you.
    "Yeah!  And what about Rei?"  Makoto seemed to be enjoying this.
    "Um...the nerdy one who likes pretty things?" You chuckled a bit, thinking about the story when he almost drowned.
    "Yeah...I guess..."  Makoto chuckled a bit. "What about Rin?"
    You furrowed your eyebrows in concentration.  "The purple grumpy shark?"  
    Makoto couldn't help but laugh at your reply.  "I guess that's true... What about Haru?"
    You smirked; you knew a lot about Haru.  "He strips whenever there is a body of water nearby, he only swims freestyle, his favorite food is mackerel and he eats it for every meal, he is pretty reserved and doesn't talk a lot, you can understand what he is feeling because of his eyes, and he wears his swimsuit under his clothes."  You placed your hands on your hips and smiled proudly.
    "Wow...[Name]... I didn't expect you to remember all that..."  Makoto looked stunned.
    "Well, you talk about him a lot so one tends to remember things."  You chuckled.
    Makoto joined in with your laughter.  "You're going to get along well with everyone..."  
    "I hope so, I could really use some friends..."  You smiled bitterly.
    "Don't worry [Name]... I'm sure everyone will love you..."  Makoto wrapped his arm around your shoulder, and you nodded.  "We're almost there, so you will see soon enough..."  Makoto smiled and led you into a small park.

    The second you arrived, a high pitched squeal erupted.  You turned your head, just to be crushed by somebody's arms.
    "You must be [Name]-chan!!! Hi I'm Nagisa! I have a girl name but I'm a guy!  Isn't that cool?!"  As the blonde bombarded you with facts about himself, you stared at Makoto with a panicked expression on your face.
    "Hah... Nagisa... I think that's enough, you're scaring [Name]-senpai..."  Another voice reached your ears and you turned your head towards a blue haired boy with glasses.
    "Aww! But I'm just trying to be niceee!"  Nagisa pouted, but released you.  
    "T-thank you..."  You mumbled sheepishly.
    The blue haired one, who you assumed to be Rei, approached you.
    "I apologize for Nagisa-kun's inappropriate behavior... It was not beautiful..."  As he spoke, he adjusted his glasses.
    "Ah...um it's fine... You must be Rei..."  You nodded politely.
    "Yes, I am.  You must've known, because of my iconic personality, and my striking appearance."  Rei pushed up his glasses once more.
    You kept a blank expression on your face.  "Um... Sure..." You nodded slowly.  
    Before Rei could speak more, Makoto interrupted him.  "How bout we all take turns introducing ourselves to [Name]..." He chuckled lightly.  "Gou, you can go next."  
    A pink haired girl walked up to you.  "Hi! My name's Gou! But please call me Kou. I'm the manager of the swim club at Iwatobi high.  My stupid brother has swim practice so he'll be late"  She smiled apologetically.
    "Oh! Nice to meet you G-Kou!"  You smiled and took out your phone.  "Why don't we exchange phone numbers?"  You held your phone out to her.
    "Oh good idea! I'll put my number in, and you can just text me, okay?"  She quickly began typing on your phone.
    "No fair! I wanna text [Name] too!"  Nagisa grabbed your phone from Gou, and began typing his number in.  
    You chuckled lightly.  "Why don't I get all of your numbers?"
    "Good idea [Name]-senpai, you have a beautiful mind."  Nagisa passed your phone to Rei, and he put his number in.
    This happened until you had everyone's number in your phone.  "Thanks everyone..."  You smiled and looked through your contacts.
    "[Name]-chan!" Come have some food!"  Nagisa dragged you towards a picnic blanket, and sat you down next to him.  "Everyone pitched in and made some!"  Nagisa grabbed a plate and filled it with all kinds of food.  "Here!"  He handed the overfilled plate to you and you nodded in return.  
    "Mhm looks delicious..."  You licked your lips. It had been a while since you had a home-cooked meal, and it felt good being surrounded by people who were excited to meet you.  "Thanks guys!"  Your face lit up and you giggled.  
    "You're welcome [Name]-chan!"  Nagisa wrapped his arm around your shoulder.  
After eating, you all decided to go for a walk by the lake. (A swim on Haru's case.)
    "And that's how I found out that I was allergic to math!"  Nagisa walked next to you, chatting about his life.
    "Ah...that's really interesting..."  You chuckled lightly; Nagisa sure was energetic...
    "Nagisa-kun, why don't you let [Name]-senpai process all of this information."  Rei nodded at Nagisa, who reluctantly agreed.
    "So [Name], what kind of things do you like?"  Gou smiled and changed the subject.
    "Well, um... I like-"
    Suddenly, Gou's phone rang, interrupting you.
    "One second."  She held up a finger and brought the phone to her ear.  "Hello? Onii-chan?"  
    A muffled voice emerged from the other line. "Oi, where the hell are you?!"  
    Gou giggled quietly.  "Calm down, [Name] wanted to go take a short walk by the lake."
    Rin grumbled something inaudible then hung up.  
    "Sorry about that [Name]... Onii-chan can get grumpy sometimes..." Gou sheepishly chuckled.
    "Ah, it's fine..." You waved off the situation.  
    "He should be here in a few seconds..." Gou looked over her shoulder.  "Ah! There he is!  Onii-chan!! Over here!"  Gou waved her hand.
    As Rin made his way over, you felt his eyes on you.  Feeling a bit self conscious, you looked away.
    "Onii-chan, this is [Name],  she is Makoto's cousin."  Gou introduced you to Rin.
    "I know, we've met before..."  Rin looked at you, his expression soft.  
    "W-we have?"  You looked at him, confused.
    "It was a long time ago, but I'm pretty good at remembering things."  Rin nodded.  
    "What are you talking about Onii-chan?!  You're horrible at remembering things!  You forgot your own birthday once!!"  Gou started laughing, and you joined in.  
    "Oi! Stop laughing!"  Rin growled at you and Gou.  "It's not funny!"
    You nodded, still giggling.  "Alright..."
    Rin rolled his eyes and joined your small walking group.  
    "Rin-chan! Nice to see you!"  Nagisa cheered happily while Rei fixed his glasses.
    "Yes, indeed,  nice to see you Rin-Senpai..."
    As you walked, Rin looked around. "Oi, where are Haru and Makoto?"  His facial expression showed no sign of concern, but you could tell that he cared for the two of them.  
    "Oh, Haru-chan went to swim in the pool!"  Nagisa chimed in.
    "Mhm... Typical Haru..."  Rin chuckled quietly. You though it was actually a bit cute how he tried to hide his feelings.  
    "So... Rin..."  You decided to strike up a conversation with the auburn haired male.  "Why don't you remind me how we met..."  You looked up at him a smiled kindly.
    Rin hesitated for a moment before speaking.  "Well, it was one day when I was twelve... It was after swim practice, and you showed up..."  Rin nodded.  "Yeah, that's about it... I mean... You introduced yourself to me, but that's really it..." Rin shrugged.
    "Hmm..."  You pursed your lips.  "Wait...  You were that cute pink one!"  You pointed at Rin and grinned.  'Yes! I remembered!'  You congratulated yourself, not aware that by calling Rin cute, you had made him blush.  
    "U-um... Sure..." Rin  turned his head away from you.
    You blinked.  "Huh? Did I say something wrong?"  You leaned towards Gou and whispered.
    Gou only giggled to your question.  "Onii-chan is just easily embarrassed... Not many girls call him cute."  She snickered lightly.
    You felt your face heat up.  "I didn't mean it like that... I mean it's not that he isn't cute... He i-is... I-I just... M-meant... Past tense..."  A waterfall of words poured out of your mouth as you tried to explain yourself.  Ending with a sigh, you reluctantly gave up.
    Gou giggled once more.  "Alright~"
    You looked away from her and sighed again.  
    "Oh ho ho~ [Name]~" Nagisa nudged your shoulder suggestively, making you blush more.
    "Nagisa-kun, behave yourself..."  Rei pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head.  
A few moments of silence passed until Nagisa finally spoke.
    "Hey! [Name]! There's a festival this weekend, you should come with me!"  Nagisa wrapped his arm around you and grinned.  
    You smiled. "Yeah! That sound like a lot of fun!  It's been a while since I've been to a festival!"  
    An almost inaudible groan escaped Rin's lips.  "I'm coming too..."  
    Gou hugged him tightly.  "Yay Onii-chan!  I'll go too!  We should invite Makoto and Haru as well!"
    You nodded.  "That sounds great!  The last time I went to a festival, it was with my grandma,  it'll be nice hanging out with friends!"  You were so deep in thought, you didn't notice a certain male staring at you.
